SUMMARY:Our Seeds: Weaving Linen from Flax
DESCRIPTION:In May\, we planted a small plot of flax at the farm. The plot includes a shorter variety for harvesting linseed for eating\, and a taller variety for making linen. \nIt’s now time to harvest the linen flax. At this workshop\, you can help with the harvesting\, and learn more about how this crop gets processed and eventually woven into cloth. The Textiles team from Edinburgh College of Art will be bringing drop spindles\, a spinning wheel and a loom so you can try your hand at weaving. \n(Also\, the veg stall will be open 5-6:30pm so if you come a bit early you can pick up some fresh veg from the Market Garden as well) \nClick here to book on Eventbrite

In the garden we’ll be making an earthen build community kitchen but if you come to this workshop and the following related workshops you could learn how to build an earthen structure\, from scratch\, in your own space. \nWe’ll be running the workshop from 10am until 4pm and we’ll have soup for lunch.
