DESCRIPTION:In this workshop we’ll be using onion skins for this workshop and everyone will leave with an A5 piece of paper\, a small sample of onion dyed cloth and the know-how to make more at home. \nSave and bring any onion peels / other fibrous plant materials from your own kitchen to experiment with (we’ll also have a stash\, so no worries if you don’t have any). \nWe’ll also be making circular paper with a nifty coffee press to be used at our Worm Appreciation Day in a creative writing badge making workshop. \nWho is This Event For?\nAdults aged 16+ who are interested in ecological arts. \nExperience Level: \nThis workshop is aimed at beginners and open to all levels of experience. \nThis workshop is ticketed with a solidarity pricing scheme. \nThose who can are encouraged to pay a little more\, and those who need it are encouraged to accept a discount. DESCRIPTION:The monthly Birdsong Identification Walks continue. Professor John Frank will lead a group around the farm\, counting and recording the species you find on the day\, as part of our annual survey. You don’t need previous knowledge – John will teach you how to identify birds using the mobile app Merlin. To avoid disturbing the birds\, we have to restrict the numbers of volunteers on these very popular walks\, so it really is a case of the early bird catching the worm/spaces on the sign up sheets. If you’re free on a Thursday afternoon\, please come along and get involved. \nTo get here\, come through the gate at the back of the Toby Carvery car park – the allotments are on the right hand side\, past the portacabins. Click here to get directions to the farm. \nAccess notes: It’s level access (no stairs) from the tarmac car park\, to a compacted stone path\, onto an uneven grassy field. There is a gender neutral\, wheelchair accessible\, composting toilet within the allotment site. \nThere are a mix of heavier and lighter jobs to suit different bodies – you can choose what’s right for you on the day\, and go at your own pace. \nYou don’t need to book\, but if you have any questions you can email Lisa on communityallotments@lauristonfarm.org
