For the third year, Professor John Frank will lead volunteers on birdsong identification walks around the farm, once a month from spring to summer. This gives us a count of the bird species – an important part of our biodiversity monitoring work.
You can join us in 2024. You don’t need previous knowledge – John will teach you how to identify birds, using the mobile app Merlin (ideally download this to a device that you can bring on the walk).
We have to restrict numbers on these walks, to avoid disturbing the birds, so it really is a case of the early bird catching the worm for the signup sheets.
