Seed Patch Volunteering

The farm produces a lot of its own seed because we know from experience that if we produce our seed well, it makes for way healthier plants than anything we buy. Seed learns to adapt to our soil and climate. Saving seed is a crucial part of food sovereignty, and that means taking care of this year’s crop. Year-on-year, we produce more seed and hopefully get better at it! We could do with some extra hands on Friday mornings to help us grow and care for our seed crops.
If you’d like to help with the crops that we are growing to save the seeds, sign up here: https://volunteersignup.org/L73WY
Who Is This For?
You don’t need previous experience. For this session, you do need to be fairly steady on your feet and have a bit of stamina for walking. We supply gloves and any tools.
Access Notes
We will be outdoors working on the seed beds in the market garden. There will be quite a bit of walking on rough grassy ground, and bending over to weed etc. No heavy lifting. The market garden is on the west side of the farm, near Cramond Road South.
