Sunday Stroll in the Grain

Our grain is looking so very, very lovely and we would love to share its glory with you. This Sunday stroll will start at the community allotments for a walk through our History of Wheat plot sown last winter, and then we will head across the farm to our agroforestry alleys to admire the Rouge D’Ecosse Wheat and Hebridean Rye. On the way, we can chat about the story of our grain both on the farm, Scotland and the world, and we will have tasters so you can sample the various grains and taste their differences.
No booking needed – just come along
All ages welcome
Please dress for windy north Edinburgh.
Access Notes & Directions
This is an outdoor event, on uneven grassy ground. People have navigated the community allotments and garden in robust wheelchairs and with walking aids. From the allotments, the walk across the farm to the agroforestry alleys takes around 20 minutes, and is on uneven, sloping grassy ground. There are no steps on our route.
There is a spacious, single cubicle, level access, gender-neutral composting toilet in the garden.
We will start in the Community Allotments & Garden, and then go across the farm to the Market Garden
To find us, enter through the gate at the back of Toby Carvery car park and go through the farmyard to the Community Garden & Allotments (on the right hand side, past the ‘Welcome’ portacabin).
