Drop-in Volunteering Changing to Winter Hours

TUESDAY sessions now finished for the year, THURSDAY drop-ins continue 1-3pm…

Five photos from the community allotments: a group of four people kneeling at a raised bed using hand tools; a closeup of a wheelbarrow with bare root trees, with two laughing volunteers behind it; a young, smiling volunteer shovels frost-covered bark into a wheelbarrow, a smiling volunteer moves an empty wheelbarrow on a crisp sunny winter day; beds of veg in autumn light. The text is repeated in the post.

(sorry this post originally had the days round the wrong way – corrected now)

Tuesday drop-ins have now finished for this year. The last evening volunteering session will be Tuesday 3rd October, and then drop-in sessions will be weekly on THURSDAYS 1pm-3pm (no Tuesday session).

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who volunteers in the Community Allotments and Garden – we have thriving plants and a thriving community. If you’re new and free on a Thursday afternoon, please come along and get involved.

To get here, come through the gate at the back of the Toby Carvery car park – the allotments are on the right hand side, past the portacabins. Click here to get directions to the farm. When you get there, ask for Lisa and she’ll welcome you and get you set up with a task. There are a mix of heavy and light jobs, you can go at your own pace and choose the ones that are right for you. Everyone can choose based on their health and mobility on the day.

Access notes: It’s level access (no stairs) from the tarmac car park, to a compacted stone path, onto an uneven grassy field. There is a gender neutral, wheelchair accessible, composting toilet within the allotment site.

You don’t need to book, but if you have any questions you can email Lisa on communityallotments@lauristonfarm.org
