You may have noticed us working with another local farmer to cultivate the top field of the Market Garden. This is part of the long-term plan to bring more of the farm into food production. We’ve planted a buckwheat green manure to help transition from pasture to arable and in preparation for sowing winter grains in the Autumn.

We’ll also be planting more fruit trees in the winter to divide the space into smaller fields. This will become part of our agroforestry system .

Watch out for harvest events in collaboration with the Granton Garden Bakery coming soon for the grains we planted last year (these are the two field blocks you can see which are already in arable production).
