Regular visitors to the area will have noticed that grass cutting is in operation. We have arranged for a contractor to top the grass in all the areas where there will be interventions in the near future – creation of the market garden area, starting community allotments, tree and hedge planting, maintaining wader habitat and creating wader scrapes, amphibian habitat and meadow areas. One area near Lauriston Castle is being left uncut as it is good habitat for a whole range of invertebrates. The grass cutting will take around 3 days to complete.
