More tree planting info!
A big thank you to everyone who has helped us with planting trees so far. We’ve had a few questions from people interested in helping out, so we’ve got a bit more info about what’s happening and how you can get involved.
Yesterday we received around 8000 trees, stakes and guards. Thank you to the crew who helped move and store them all (above) it was a mammoth effort!
The first ones are getting planted up today by volunteers. Over the coming weeks we’ll be planting 950m of double row native hedgerow and approx 1.5ha of mixed native woodland and wet woodland – predominantly on the east side of the farm on the slopes and the boggy areas.
If you’d like to help with planting – find dates and sign up here for a session: volunteersignup.org/HCRA8
Under 16s welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult.
Dogs allowed but have to be kept on a lead.
Before each session, info will be emailed to volunteers detailing meeting point and farm contacts for the day.
If coming to a session we encourage you to walk, cycle or use public transport if possible and wear sturdy footwear and weather appropriate clothing.
Thanks again to everyone who has already signed up and we hope to see you down on the land soon!
