Theatre for FREE!
Coming to the farm, Alice Mary Cooper’s theatre show about the Australian women who saved their local wild space from luxury housing development…
The Bush is a new show by Alice Mary Cooper that recalls the true story of thirteen, 1970’s ‘housewives’ who battled to save their local bushland from being developed into Luxury Housing.
The Bush is a timely celebration of community environmental action that promises to entertain, encourage and empower.
Alice Mary Cooper is an English-born, Australian-raised and Scotland-based artist. She grew up on the land of the Wallamagatal people of the Eora Nation. It is Aboriginal land: always was, always will be. She makes work for all ages and is passionate about using her arts practice to create a more sustainable future, ideally making people smile in the process.
The play is touring community run spaces and theatres across Scotland by bicycle and train this summer.
We’re excited that it’s coming to our Unexpected Garden as its themes resonate with the work we do, our shared story of community ownership at the farm and the history of community activism within North Edinburgh.
Tickets to attend the show are FREE, we encourage booking via this link. If you would like a seat as chairs are limited, though you’re also welcome to bring your own blanket along and sit on the grass.
