Winter break for Community Allotment & Garden Drop-in Volunteering

Final drop-in session for the year Thursday 14th December…

A photo collage of the community allotments, in autumn/winter light - from top left: a group tending a raised bed; two folk ready to plant bareroot trees from a wheelbarrow; a hardy soul shovelling snow-dusted woodchip from a large pile into a barrow; a smiling volunteer moves a barrow in bright winter sunshine. Bottom image: an allotment plot with winter-growing veg. The text reads: Community Garden & Allotments Drop-in Volunteering winter break. Final session 14th December. Resume 18th January

The weekly drop-ins will pause for a break, with the last session of the year on Thursday 14th December.

Drop-ins will start again on Thursday 18th January, 1pm – 3pm.

To get here, come through the gate at the back of the Toby Carvery car park – the allotments are on the right hand side, past the portacabins. Click here to get directions to the farm. When you get there, ask for Lisa and she’ll welcome you and get you set up with a task. There are a mix of heavy and light jobs, you can go at your own pace and choose the ones that are right for you. Everyone can choose based on their health and mobility on the day.

Access notes: It’s level access (no stairs) from the tarmac car park, to a compacted stone path, onto an uneven grassy field. There is a gender neutral, wheelchair accessible, composting toilet within the allotment site.

You don’t need to book, but if you have any questions you can email Lisa on communityallotments@lauristonfarm.org
