Wildflower Plants

If you have a garden or growing space, planting native wildflowers is a really good way to help local wildlife and bring back biodiversity.

You can buy potted wildflower plants grown right here at the farm by Lauriston Wildflowers. We offer individual potted plants, or you can try our new starter packs: the Flowering Lawn mix pack (in three sizes), and the Shady Garden mix.

Click here to see the stocklist and email the team at wildflowers@lauristonfarm.org to arrange orders and pickups. You can also buy the plants from our seasonal Market Stall during the summer months. Click here for Market Stall details.

If you look after a larger space and need to purchase plants in bulk, we can also grow to order based on your needs – please get in touch.

Why Plant Wildflowers?

Many shop-bought ornamental plants don’t fit into the local ecosystem, so they may not provide any food to wildlife, or support the life in the soil (but some do – don’t rip everything out in haste!).

After years of being weeded, mown, and crowded out by ornamentals in gardens and parks, and with local ecosystems all out of balance, our wildflower plants need a helping hand to come back and thrive. When you give space to the plants that naturally grow here, you help bring back a key part of the whole web of life. They also usually look after themselves pretty well once established – we can give you care tips with your purchase.
