Learn to Build a Vermiculture Compost System
Would you like to learn how to make a continuous flow vermiculture* compost system?
*Vermiculture is a sustainable and efficient method of composting with earthworms that can be done in small spaces and has a wide range of benefits. It is a great option for those who want to reduce their waste and improve soil health.
This hands-on-tools timber based workshop will teach you all the ins and outs of this composting system. Led by Emma (from Lauriston Farm), and Marco (from Rhyze Mushrooms). It will take place in the Market Garden over a full day (from 10am – 4pm, with an hour’s lunch break).
Together we’ll make one big system for Rhyze Mushrooms and our Market Garden team to use on site at Lauriston Farm as a pilot to gather data and find out how much organic matter the worms can transform into nutrient rich fertiliser!
This workshop is ticketed with a solidarity pricing scheme.
Those who can are encouraged to pay a little more, and those who need it are encouraged to accept a discount. The idea is that by paying on a sliding scale, we hope to foster more justice, equity and diversity in our food system and society.
If you think you might be able to pay a little more for your ticket please ‘offer solidarity’. If you feel that you need a discount please select a discounted or free ticket. There’s no questions asked – it’s available if you feel you need it.
