Lots to do in the Market Garden to prepare for a productive season so we really appreciate your help.
Join us on Tuesday mornings 10:00-12:00
Volunteer sign up sheet here: https://volunteersignup.org/Q9F7J
You don’t need any specific knowledge or skills to volunteer in the Market Garden. You do need some energy and to be fairly steady on your feet. Market Garden volunteering sessions can involve quite a bit of walking and physical activity. The tasks are usually ‘big jobs’ where many hands make light work (eg. kneeling or bending to weed, wheelbarrowing woodchip for paths, planting a big area with transplants).
If you’re worried about your body’s stamina or mobility, you might prefer to start with the Community Garden drop-in sessions instead.
But we don’t ask anyone to go beyond their limits for any task, and you can always take breaks or rotate between jobs. You are welcome to use this as a way to help you build up your fitness. If you are not sure if it’s right for you, please contact us with any questions.
