We Feed The UK

Poet Iona Lee has written ‘The Seed Kist’ inspired by the farm, as part of an amazing new arts projects We Feed The UK…

We Feed The UK is a major arts project grown by the The Gaia Foundation, pairing award-winning photographers and poets with the UK’s most inspiring regenerative food producers.

At Lauriston Farm, we are absolutely delighted to feature in poet Iona Lee’s writing, and in the story of cultivating gender equality in farming alongside pioneering Nikki Yoxall at Grampian Grazers, with beautiful photographs by Sophie Gerrard.

More About We Feed The UK

We Feed The UK draws in arts partners across ten regions of the UK. The Gaia Foundation, in collaboration with each arts partner, has commissioned photography from ten acclaimed photographers for exhibition across the UK in 2024-25. Alongside the photographers, The Gaia Foundation and award-winning Hot Poets collective have co-commissioned ten poets to tell the stories, bringing them to life via live performances and videos shot on location. It is a celebration of Britain’s custodians of soil, sea and seed, showcasing our positive solutions to climate change, the biodiversity crisis and social justice.

The food producers featured as part of We Feed The UK are flourishing against a backdrop of climate chaos, a cost of living crisis, and post-Brexit changes. In one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world, where less than half of our biodiversity remains, the project aims to show that nature-friendly and community-centric farming practices are at the root of our future resilience.
